Stormbreaker follows the story of a young teen named Alex Rider who is fourteen years old. Alex faces a challenge as his uncle passes away in a car crash, which leads him to become suspicious due to the officers saying that he died without wearing his seat belt. Alex decides to investigate this case after school when he sees the bodyguards of his uncle's boss, Mr. Blunt, have sub machine guns during his uncle's funeral. He finds the car dump lot that his uncle's car was taken to and finds out that it was not a car crash that killed his uncle, but bullets that penetrated the entire drivers side of the car. Unluckily for Alex his leave from the car dump was not very pleasant as he was being shot at by the bodyguards of Mr. Blunt. Leaving the area on his bike with only a few cuts and bruises, Alex is invited to the bank that his uncle worked at the next day to discuss his uncle's will. Taking this as a chance to investigate more into his uncle's work, Alex sneaks into his locked office via the windows which were on 15th floor of the building, due to the door being locked. After surfing through some of the files inside of a cabinet, Alex comes in contact with a file called, Stormbreaker. At the same time the door which was first locked opened and two men came in. One of the men was the man who met Alex at the lobby and took him to the 15th floor to talk about Alex's uncle's will. Too slow to respond one of the man shoots Alex with a tranquilizer gun and Alex is taken to a secret area. Once Alex wakes up he is surprised that he wasn't dead due to being shot. He dresses up with the clothes that were left for him and waits until a person finally knocked on the door and entered. She instructed Alex to follow her because he will be having lunch with Mr. Blunt. During lunch Mr. Blunt tells Alex the truth that the bank that his uncle worked in wasn't really a bank and never existed; it was a building for the Special Operation Division of MI6 and that his uncle was a spy. Furthermore they resume to tell him that his uncle was killed on his return from a spy mission that included the Sayle Enterprise. His mission involved finding out if there was anything fishy in the new computer that Sayle Enterprise was developing and distributing among all of the schools in Europe. Alex's uncle was killed before he could report what he found out about the Stormbreaker, so Alex's role in all of this was to continue where his uncle left off and find out what his uncle had found at. Alex refused at first but was then forced to accept the mission from Mr. Blunt due to Mr. Blunt now being his guardian and also because he would have taken everything away from Alex. Now young Alex Rider is a spy that is ordered to investigate the Stormbreaker and Herod Sayle, the founder of Sayle Enterprise. Follow the young teenager as he is flown into Sayle's personal home and factory undercover in the name of Felix Lester, who is the name of the boy who won a trip to go visit Herod Sayle's home and try out the Stormbreaker itself. Will Alex find out what his uncle did, or will his fate end up just like his uncles?
